Who is a Chargee?

A Chargee is a person who leases a neighbour's home charge point to charge their electric vehicle using the COEV platform.

How much can I earn as a Host?

As a Host, you have the option to establish the minimum rate for a charging session, as well as the price per hour that the Chargee will pay during the charging process. For example, if you pay 20 cents per kWh for your household electricity and have a standard 10kW charger, and five neighbors utilize 40kWh of charge every week, you may charge €3 per hour. Of this amount, €5 will be profit per session — up to €1,200 per year with consistent weekly use.

How much should I pay as a Chargee?

Typically, the final cost is calculated by multiplying the hourly rate by the duration of the rental. Each Host can establish their own pricing based on factors such as their charger's costs, type, and performance.

What is the concept behind COEV?

Although public chargers are important and more are needed, they tend to have time limits and higher costs than home chargers, making them less appealing to most people. COEV aims to provide equal opportunities for electric vehicle ownership by allowing people to share their chargers with others.

How can I become a Host?

You can become a Host of COEV by simply joining our platform. Anyone who has a car charger at home (or even a suitable place for it) and can provide others to use it can benefit from being a Host of COEV.

You can utilize any Type 2 charger or higher purchased from your local charger providers. There are numerous providers available today, and you can install one at a suitable location on your property.

Why should I use COEV to charge my car?

Do I need to have my own electric vehicle to become a Provider?

No. While most home chargers belong to EV drivers currently, we have COEV Providers renting out chargers that have been provided as part of their property.

Is it safe?

Certainly. Our objective is to create a welcoming community that brings together environmentally aware individuals throughout Europe, while prioritizing the safety of our users.

Do I need to pay taxes?

In most cases, yes. However, the specifics may vary depending on the tax regulations in your area. Most EU countries provide tax incentives for eco-friendly and small businesses.

Can I offer a parking space without a charger?

Yes. If you have a driveway, garage, or private spot that drivers can book, you can list it on COEV even without an EV charger. Many neighbours need reliable parking near home, work, or destinations — your space can earn while helping the community.

How does parking booking work?

Parking uses the same COEV flow as charging: discover spots on the map, send a booking request, the Host approves, you arrive during your slot, and payment is handled securely through the app.

How is parking priced?

Hosts set their own rates. You can charge an hourly fee, add an optional night rate for longer stays, or offer the spot for free. Pricing is flexible — cover your costs, earn extra, or simply help neighbours find a place to park.

Can I link a charger to my parking space?

Not yet — listing a charger and a parking spot separately is supported today. Linking a charger to a specific parking space in one listing is planned for a future release.
